Joint
Selected Entry for HelloWood Cabin Fever 2026
Joint is formed through the juxtaposition of two architectural bodies, a utilitarian module and a living module. Once joined, the two halves operate as a single inhabitable system, with their spatial identity emerging from contrasting geometries, surfaces, and functions negotiating proximity, connection, and continuity.
Joint is selected as one of the cabin projects to be built as part of the Hellowood Cabin Fever building festival in Česká Kamenice, Czech Republic. The project will be built with 20 international builders over an eight-day workshop. The construction is conceived as a pedagogical framework; during the workshop, participants were exposed to diverse aspects of building, including principles of various types of timber construction, modular assembly, building systems, and coordinated problem-solving.
